The benefits of rewarding employees
When we set up the business in 2008 we knew we wanted to build a procurement and supply chain recruitment company that really rewarded our team. Sure, that meant offering a great salary and package (which will still do) but it also meant giving employees the benefits that would enable them to enjoy a great work/life balance and to feel happy, healthy and motivated.
Over the years these benefits have changed. Flexible working, for example, has become much more widespread since the pandemic and also since people are recognizing that commuting for two hours a day isn’t great for mental health and has a negative impact on time with family and loved ones - and the bank balance.
We’re proud to have a team of people that are happy and fulfilled in their work. Here are some of the main benefits we offer with some first-hand experiences sprinkled in by our team members.
Flexible working
Flexible working can transform an employee’s experience in a role. If you have ever commuted then you will know what we are talking about! The ability to avoid rush hours, work from home, pick the kids up from school or enjoy a leisure activity as a result of changing your working hours is a huge benefit and one we are very happy to offer.
Amy, a Senior Consultant lives two and a half hours away from our London office. If she worked full-time on-site the commute would negatively impact her well-being and her finances so Bramwith made it easy for Amy to work flexibly. She tells us; “I love visiting the office once a week so I can catch up with everyone and be part of team meetings in person. The rest of the time I am home-based. Although I’m working on my own it never really feels like that because we all keep in close contact so I still feel very much part of the team.”
Incentives
Our team are ambitious and motivated individuals who love an incentive. We offer a variety of rewards throughout the year including team holidays that not only make people feel valued, but they’re also great for team building and creating a great workplace culture. We didn’t even let the pandemic stop us, as Principal Consultant Mollie explains;
“It was tough when we were working remotely so our managers put lots of fun incentives in place. We took part in a virtual escape room, a company-wide game of Family Fortunes and an online session with a personal trainer. This was so helpful for long-term employees and new starters who had no way of meeting their team in person.”
The little extras that make all the difference
We want to make sure our team feels valued on a day-to-day basis and we want them to feel we have their backs throughout their career with us. We like to surprise our team with events like spontaneous lunch clubs and other social activities. We also know that time outside the office for enjoying hobbies, going on vacation and spending time with friends and family is vital so, when we promote employees we offer an added sweetener of an extra day vacation.
We also want to keep our team motivated through learning and development, as Principal Consultant Dev, explains.
“Bramwith offers funding to every employee for training purposes. This is a really valuable benefit for businesses to offer and one that is not always available in other companies. It shows that Bramwith is wanting to invest in your career and that speaks volumes.”
